Add saved SSH agent hosts in Windsurf and drop Cascade commands
Windsurf v3.10.23 connects Devin Desktop agents over SSH from the location selector with saved hosts, status dots, and transcript recovery. ACP is always on, Cascade leftovers are gone, Docker MCP servers launch, and Cloud allowlists match the web app. Point workflows at Devin Local/Cloud and SSH hosts. Why this loop
This release changes where work runs, not just UI polish. Remote agents are now first-class: pick them in the location selector, save hosts, watch sidebar status dots and the server icon, and recover the exact SSH transcript after reconnect. Local sessions can be deleted from the agent sidebar; switching sessions in Agent Command Center updates the file explorer to that session’s working directory. ACP is always enabled (the toggle is gone). MCP authorization opens the provider directly, Docker-based registry MCP servers launch, and activation failures show the agent’s last stderr line plus its output channel. Cascade entry points are removed—new-agent, annotations, conversation mentions, settings group, automatic Lifeguard checks, Vibe & Replace, Deploy, and workflow commands—so old runbooks will fail. Cloud network blocks now use the web-app Allowlist N domains card naming the governing security profile; archiving a cloud session with open PRs offers to close them and archives child sessions; outage messages are held and delivered on reconnect.
Proposed actions
- Upgrade to Windsurf v3.10.23, open the agent location selector, add each remote box as a saved SSH host, and confirm the sidebar server icon plus status dot before assigning work; after a drop, reconnect and verify the exact transcript is restored.
- Search docs, keybindings, and agent prompts for removed Cascade entry points—new-agent option, annotations, conversation mentions, Cascade settings group, automatic Lifeguard checks, Vibe & Replace, Deploy, and workflow commands—and replace them with Devin Local or Cloud sessions. Delete any Enable ACP toggle instructions; ACP is always on.
- Re-authorize each MCP server so the provider page opens directly, then launch every Docker-based MCP server from the registry once. On activation failure, read the agent’s last stderr line and open that agent’s output channel.
- In Agent Command Center, switch among local, SSH, and Cloud sessions and confirm the file explorer follows the active session working directory; delete unused local sessions from the agent sidebar so they no longer hold background transcripts.
- When Devin Cloud shows an Allowlist N domains card, update the named security profile or automation instead of bypassing it. When archiving a cloud session with open PRs, decide whether to close those PRs (child sessions archive with the parent); do not resend messages sent during an outage—they are held and delivered on reconnect.
